{pretty, happy, funny, real}

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Every Thursday, at Like Mother, Like Daughter!

{pretty}
This print was given to us (and I think most of the rest of the family) by DH's Great Aunt Mary.  It was painted by one of the sisters in her order.
The boys are really taken with it - I had to take it down for a few days to fix the frame (cheap frame and it starts to separate after a while, I get nervous the glass is gonna slide right out) and Littler kept asking for it.  As in, "where Mary, baby?"

{happy}
Because no childhood is complete without playing in large appliance boxes.  And large appliance boxes are few and far between in apartment living.

{funny}
Typing on "compooter."
Even funnier was when they were typing on either side of the box and it looked like they were playing an enormous game of Battleship.  I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of that.

{real}
I started the days devoted to kitchen simplicity in
Organized Simplicity yesterday and this is how it's looking.  I'm really liking it but wondering how long it will last... not only do I have to keep up with it but there are six other hands who mess around have occasion to be in there.

I loved the pictures of your sons playing with the boxes! Looks like they had a great time. Your kitchen looks lovely-so clean and uncluttered-good for you!

Boxes are the preferred toy around here too!

And your kitchen looks clean and simple and spiffy to me :)

YOur boys look like they are having so much fun in that box!

What a beautiful painting too. It is so nice to have really individual items in our homes.
