Yarn Along

Books and yarn, yarn and books - makes this dreary day a little brighter :)  You can stop over at Ginny's to see some more if it brightens your day too.

I between books at the moment.  After finishing that string of novels I picked up a "serious" book that I have been meaning to read for two years (a book on early child development that was a gift when the Little Guy was born) but still haven't started it.  So for the time being I'm reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.  "The Sign of Four" specifically.  I'm rather sad that it has taken me this long to discover these - Doyle's use of words is amazing.  I really enjoy these stories.  (And picturing Jude Law as our narrator Watson doesn't hurt either :)

And Dad's scarf is coming along.  I love the feel of this yarn, KnitPicks Comfy Cotton.  It's soft and smooth and has nice stitch definition.  At the moment this is on hold while I finish the binding on the first quilt for the first wedding of the season.  Yay!

Edit (because I forgot to put it in in the first place) It looks like I'll be hosting a review and giveaway of digital scrapbooking stuff from My Memories next week so check back for more details soon :)  For now I'm having some fun playing with it.

Your scarf looks great! I want to learn how to cable. One of these times I'll dive in!

Beautiful cable - and bamboo circular needles. You'd fit right into my house. :)

Gorgeous cables! Your Dad is a lucky guy to get such a scarf. I have to admit that I've never read any Doyle either. On the list...on the list... :)

Those cables look better every week! The stitch definition is indeed splendid. I can't wait to see it all done.

I would have to agree that Jude Law made an EXCELLENT Watson. ;-)
