Yarn Along

Oh happy Wednesday, books and projects galore :)  I love seeing what else people are working on and reading.  Should be interesting for the next few weeks while getting ready for Christmas.  Head on over to Ginny's small things to check it out.

You can see in my picture I'm not very far into anything.  I picked a new pattern for my mom's shawl, I just couldn't make myself cast on the other again.  And I was looking for a break from my produce project.  I love my knit fruits but just was in the mood from something bigger.  I'm really hopeful that I'll be able to knit this up pretty quickly and I'm pretty sure it will be snuggly and pretty.

My books are my Advent reading.  So they're both just started too.  I can't really say anything yet about The Shack except that it's been recommended to the point where I avoided it to now as being too "trendy."  I actually read Bright Evening Star last Advent.  It's a collection of reflections on the mystery of the Incarnation by Madeleine L'Engle.  I love Madeleine L'Engle.  Now just to find the time to read :)

I read The Shack when it first came out and I absolutely loved it. I think it may be a bit trendy now, but it is definitely a great read.

We're opposite right now! You're looking for bigger projects to work on, I'm looking for smaller ones ;)

I like either kind of knitting projects, however the smaller ones tend to be faster. I have never read that book, looking forward to hearing what you think!

I always switch back and forth between big and little projects too. That sounds like a great read, I have heard about it before. Tricia @ crunchycatholicmomma.blogspot

I used to do a lot of little bitty knitting, toys etc, but haven't for ages. Big knits for big children have gotten in the way....Sometimes the little knits take longer I find, all that fiddly making up and weaving in.

It looks like you are off to a good start :) I like to vary my knits too- but then I think I have knitting ADD ;)

I couldn't read the Shack. It was too heartbreaking for me. I hope you enjoy it, I have heard that it's beautiful if you can get to the end. The L'Engle book is wonderful... enjoy it!

I'm working on a big project and can't wait for a little one. Funny how it switches back and forth like that. Can't wait to see your project next week!

Finding time to read is a difficult one for sure. Sometimes I seem to have gobs of time and willpower while other times, I might have gobs of time OR willpower...or neither. I was just going to ask about your produce knitting, but the shawl sounds nice too.

I love Madeleine L'Engle too but I've never read that book. My To Read list is SOOO long and the Yarn Along just makes it longer every week!
