Yarn Along

There hasn't been much reading or knitting progress made this week.  It's not that I don't like my project or book.  But other things have just come to the top of the pile so to speak.  Yesterday we met friends at the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lewiston.  Needless to say we got home really late, late enough that both boys slept through the boarder crossing which has never happened before in all our crossings.  And today they were a bit out of sorts.  Hence the lateness of this post.

Here you can see a bit of my distraction - books.  Lots and lots of mostly Christmas books.  The boys love all the Christmas books, sometimes I have to take a break from them for my own sanity.  Occasionally they will bring something else, like good old Ferdinand but mostly it's Christmas at all times.  :)

The trouble, if you will, with mom's shawl is that I've reached the point of slow going.  Casting on 9 stitches and working your way up to 233 is rough.  I much prefer to cast on 233 and work my way down ;-)  I think I picked a pattern for a sweater for ME with yarn given to me by a friend from her mom's stash.  Now I'm having second thoughts thinking about all those stitches.

Now I'm off to check in at small things to see what else is going on in the blogosphere.  Maybe I should start tomorrow's posts too...

I feel for you with respect to the shawl. Good luck with it.

I can't seem to get into the Christmas spirit but I'm glad that the kids are.
