I'm sadly still working on my mom's shawl. I was really really hoping to finish it before they left but just couldn't pull it off. I am at least in the home stretch now. It's good to be out of the stocking knit ;-) Another procrastination this week was picking a sweater pattern to make using yarn given to me by a friend from her mom's stash. Yes, I might just be insane but I am going to attempt knitting myself a sweater. And I laid out the blocks to get back to work on the quilt for my friend who got married in October. About a month ago I moved around some furniture and set up the sewing machine permanently in the bedroom :) We got a desk lamp for the table yesterday and now I just need a few minutes to sit down and get sewing.
There hasn't really been anything going on on the reading front this week thanks to everything else going on but thanks to Christmas I do have a few new books I'm looking forward to. I got a couple quilting pattern books that I've been drooling over, looking forward to
But first it's off to check in at small things and see what else has been going this week. Might have been a quiet week in other places too...

You got some great reads for Christmas! I'd have a hard time choosing first. I really enjoyed One Thousand Gifts.
Love your pile of books! I hope you can find the time to read a page here and there over the holidays :)
What a super stack of books you have there! Like Victoria, I loved One Thousand Gifts. The Yarn Harlot made me laugh out loud, she is such a riot!
Finding/making time is probably the most difficult parts of the whole creative process. I struggle with that - lots of ideas, not a lot of time. I hope you manage to find a good amount of time to finish up some of the projects you mentioned.
Looks like you've got plenty of good reading material though.
I don't think it's sad that you are still working on the shawl! That will make it a work of art because you are putting your heart into it! I love the stack of books... that's what it looks like at my house right now too.
That yarn is so pretty. I bet it will be a georgeous shawl! I have some quilting projects I'm needing to work on/finish up/start but my iron broke and I can't seem to pull myself away from the easy chair/knitting in the evenings.
