First of all, check it out!
That's right. It's two separate balls of yarn. I got them untwisted and untangled this weekend. :) Pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. Now to figure out what I'll do with it... Maybe my practice yarn for my first attempt at socks. Maybe soft baby knits. Maybe something else will capture my attention between now and whenever I finish up the other projects in progress. I'm actually trying not to think about it so I don't distract myself from those other projects that need finishing.
On to those pesky (?) works in progress. I am sorry to say I still haven't repaired the shawl. I haven't had the free time to attempt it. That and I can be honest and admit that I'm a little freaked out by the thought of ripping back so much and trying to pick up so many stitches. OK, a lot freaked out. I know I'll need some real focus for it and that just hasn't presented itself. So at the moment I'm working on my BSJ. I've taken up the Kids Clothes Week Challenge and counting my work on it toward it. I'm not planning on finishing it for the challenge but it's a good, simple project that is benefiting from the attention. My only concern about it is that it will end up being too small - as of my last OB appointment (Monday) I'm measuring ahead. And definitely feeling bigger than previous pregnancies. Makes me wonder how big this kiddlet will turn out to be.
Meanwhile, in other distractions I downloaded Treasures from the Attic again so I can finish reading it. And I put the expiration date into my calendar so I can maybe get it done this time. I also started Playful Learning by Mariah Bruehl. Because I guess I'm kinda delusional like that, to take on something else. But ya know, sometimes I'm just in the mood for something else. The reviews of it are excellent and I love the author's laid back attitude about learning opportunities - to be prepared but not to plan them. I'm hopeful this will give me a good "bag of tricks" as we used to call it at camp, those ideas you can pull practically out of nowhere as well as the stuff to pull it off. Because I need some new ideas and whatever accessories go with them.
And now I'll be off to further distraction checking at small things. Because there's no way I have enough else to do ;-)
