One of the fun things in working on this new project is finding more ways of sharing and checking out what other bloggers are working on. This Yarn Along at Small Things is a chance to show off what's on your needles and also what you're reading. Two of my favorite things :)
And I have actually accomplished things this week. As promised, I blocked my shawl yesterday. I really like the way it turned out. Now I can't wait for fall to wear it - the colors are so autumnal. Not to say I am wishing away the warm weather - I will happily wait till September to bring this out!
I also finished Simplicity Parenting by Kim John Payne yesterday. I'm planning on posting on it but I think I need to do some simplifying before I can simplify!
In my basket are of course my Baby Surprise Jacket which I am excited to be moving along with. Extra stitches and all. And now there are three... but I hear tell it shouldn't make it come out wonky so I'm just gonna go with it. For reading I just downloaded Jesus of Nazareth by Pope Benedict XVI onto my Nook from the library. I've read all of about 4 pages of the introduction so I can't really say much about it yet. I'm hopeful I'll have some time to get reading before it's due back to the library.

The shawl is stunning! Great work!
Your finished shawl is very very lovely! I am partial to fall weather and love when I have new scarves to wear that I had knit up over the summer.
LOVE the colorway of the shawl! and the BSJ is gorgeous .... excellent!
Enjoyed seeing your lovely shawl. I will be interested in your comments on Jesus of Nazareth by Pope Benedict.
Have a great day!
That shawl is beautiful! I am volunteering at a living history site nearby and I am planning to knit a historically-accurate shawl -- I'm very eager to get going on it! Your baby sweater is looking great, too.
