Yarn Along

As much as I love books and yarn, this has not been a great week for me for either.  I'm still working on my Dad's scarf - might have knit a whole 6 rows in the last 7 days.  And I'm still working on binding that quilt - the wedding is Sunday so at least I'm working toward that deadline.  Sadly my other quilt, for the wedding next Saturday, is still in it's infancy so I'm gonna have to beg for an extension on that.  And you can see my last BSJ there, still waiting to find a fine enough needle to sew the seams (the one I have is too large and/or blunt to handle the tiny stitches.)  It's all a little depressing now that I've written it out.

Reading I finished "The Sign of Four" and The Help by Kathryn Stockett.  I enjoyed both.  Now I'm onto Acceptance by Susan Coll.  I'm only on page 18 so I can't say much yet but I think it's going to be entertaining.  "Welcome to the frenetic and often comic world of college admissions, where kids recalibrate their GPAs on the basis of daily quizzes, families relocate to rehance their kids' chances for Ivy League slots, and everyone is desperately seeking the formula for ACCEPTANCE."  (from the book jacket.)  My mom lent this to me like a year and a half ago.

Head on over to small things for more books and projects :)

And I'm hosting a giveaway :)  Please check it out

It looks beautiful! Better than me, I'm afraid to try cables for some reason. Good luck on the quilt!

I completely understand about not making much progress. I'm in the same boat! Your book looks very interesting. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts on it.

Beautiful scarf! I love green, and this is a beautiful shade.

My mom is always lending me books, too -- I think this "avid reader" thing must run in families! Enjoy your reading and knitting, and thanks for your comment over on my blog, too. :-)

I've got The Help patiently waiting for me on my bookshelf. I'll get to it someday.

Think of it this way... that's six more rows you don't have to knit another time, right? Looks good, even if it is going slowly!
