Yarn Along

Here we are for another Wednesday Yarn Along :)  Yay!  And I have something new to share!  And you can check with Ginny over at small things to see more.

Just look at the adorable banana.  It's a little funky but it is obviously a banana so I'm ok with that.  And it's kinda cute.  It needs some produce friends but my hands need a break - I'm not used to the double pointed needles.  So I cast on the pretty shawl for my mom.  And somehow the number of stitches got messed up by about row 9 so I had to rip it out :(  Plus I'm pretty sure I totally don't get the RT (right twist) stitch.  So I cast on a hat.  And so far so good.  But I'm not far enough to have even gotten a picture yet so we'll see.  Hopefully it will come out a little bigger than my last attempt :)

You might notice a lack of books in this week's photo.  Well, I finished Dracula - and I highly recommend it and found the parallels to Harry Potter very interesting.  But since then I haven't picked another book but instead have been reading bits and pieces, a chapter here, an article there, plenty of blogs.  Maybe today I'll pick a book.  I have a hold at the library on the graphic novel of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.  That should come through sooner or later and be pretty interesting.  And will give me lots of inspiration for other books to read - I realized watching the movie this weekend that I have only read one of the books with characters in it!  The Picture of Dorian Gray is on my nook so that'll probably be the next of those that I read.  It's just a question of if something else gets in the line first.  :)

What a cute banana! Once your hands recover you need to make the rest of the fruits so it will not be lonely.

Oh, I love the banana! I want to knit some play food for my littles but I never seem to be able to make the time. Keep at it - your creations might finally be the inspiration I need! xo

What a cute banana! I need to make Kate some play food sometime soon, but as she has no kitchen to put it in, I guess I will wait!

That's awesome Kate!!! I'm so jealous of your talent. When I don't know how to do a stitch I look it up on youtube and that helps. :D Keep up the great work!
