Yarn Along

I love joining up with Ginny's Yarn Along every week.  Especially this week - I have stuff to show :)

Check out that apple!  It's rather cute.  And unmistakeably an apple.  These little fruit are really good practice for knitting in the round.  And last night I learned how to make an I-cord - so simple!  I also finished the hat I cast on last week but can't show it off yet since it's a gift.  But I have say I kept thinking I was knitting an eggplant hat while I was working on it :)  I think I'm going to get some more of these colors and make some eggplant hats...

I also finished two books and started a third.  Finished - The Quilter's Kitchen and The Lost Quilter by Jennifer Chiaverini.  The first was interesting because it was half story, half cookbook.  Each chapter gave the recipes for the foods mentioned in it.  That also made it a super fast read :)  The second I couldn't put down which made it a quick read too.  I really enjoy the Elm Creek books - interesting stories about women and life and relationships.  My book in progress you can see, Nurtured by Love by Shinichi Suzuki.  I'm actually enjoying it more than I thought I would, I think I expected it to be more dry.  There are lots of little stories of students and examples and they keep it interesting.
