Yarn Along

The post for knitting and reading.  And currently trying to make use of my stash.  Good times :)
Although you can see I didn't make it very far this week.  I am still reading One Thousand Gifts.  I had hoped to finish it but no.  I didn't get to much reading this week beyond The Poky Little Puppy.  Littler loves it right now.  Someday, if we ever get a puppy (which is first dependent on a yard) I want to name it Tumble-Bumble.  But I would probably be outvoted to name it Poky instead.

My projects didn't make it much farther than my reading.  I did finish my hat for me.  Maybe today it will be cold enough to wear it.  I discovered that I do not have a pair of size 9 needles so my cardi is on hold till I can pick up a pair.  So I  decided to make use of some yarn I've had since I graduated college and make the boys something snuggly.  The two blues had been rolled together for some other long forgotten project so I started to separate them.  I got a little impatient.  That was pretty foolish as it turns out.  Who would have thought?

The quilt top saw some progress, just two more seams to go and I will have finished all the blocks for it.  But when I sewed and ripped out the same seam 3 times I had to take a break.  Then we've had a string of crazy days and the WeatherMan's been back on rotation so I haven't been back to it :-/  I'm hopeful (because hope springs eternal) to finish the top during his next stretch off.  Then maybe I'll be able to show a preview, with the right approvals.  It might rather be a surprise until it is given.

Linking up with small things on Wednesday and Crunchy Catholic Momma on Thursday.
I love seeing what everyone is up to.  Except my running list of books to read is getting a little out of hand!

Those are such nice blues.. do you have an idea for what the boys will have knitted out of them yet?

I find reading Ann's book is something I have to do slowing; I read a little then let it soak in.
The pokey little puppy on the other hand I can recite from memory! :)

We liked Poky too when my kids were younger. Sorry about the yarn snags. I get impatient as well sometimes when unraveling...strings break or a knotted mess ensues. I guess that's why they say patience is a virtue? It's something I really need to work for and a very active event; certainly not passive.

I understand weeks like this! I have many myself :) Funny - I, too, need to pick up a new pair of needles before I can cast on another project.

I totally agree with what Tracey said... Ann's book need to be digested like a sumptuous meal. Love the blues!

I find rolling yarn into a ball therapuetic, weird I know but I hope you can muster up some more patience and get them done : ) Perhaps you can order the needles you need online (ebay) to avoid the temptation of buying more yarn?

The pokey puppy was one of my first books...I think.

Tumble Bumble is a very good name! I have one little person here who would do anything for a puppy of her own!
