Yarn Along

Well, I haven't made as much progress as I had hoped.  It's the story of my life.  I thought I would get a lot more knitting time in this week but after my upsetting Easter surprise I decided I wasn't up to much.  I didn't have much concentration left and knew I couldn't handle any mess ups.  But I've still managed to get at least a third of the lacy part done.  I also think I managed to get an extra stitch on each side of the stitch marker but time will tell how that plays out.  I am really really hopeful it's not too messed up looking, I'm not sure I could handle having to rip back and fix it.

So when I had to set the knitting aside I picked up a book.  I haven't been reading so I could get the shawl done and needed something to do.  Thanks to some encouragement from Jen I took The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society  by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows off the shelf.  And devoured it.  I finished it in a day and a half.  And I really miss those characters!  I highly recommend it.
I still need to re download Treasures from the Attic but I want to get the shawl done first.  I don't need the distraction of a good book.  ;-)  Because it will just distract me.

As usual, linking up with Ginny and checking out what else is being created and read.  See, I get enough distraction as it is :)

Love the yarn and the project. I got all sad again, just thinking about your poor rosary.

I do hope your project comes together for you.
I loved that book and Treasures from the attic? I'll have to give that a try!
Have a great yarn along day.

Oh your poor rosary. I have managed to repair my own in such cases, but I hope you are able to get it fixed! I recommend looking at local jewellers.
The knitting looks lovely thoughL

Oh, man! I am so very sorry about your rosary.

As Rachel wrote, maybe there is a way that you can get it repair from a jeweller.

I am so glad that you liked that book. I had to wonder to myself what took me so long in reading it to start with.

Love the beautiful colours in that yarn! I've been having one of those weeks, too - minus the rosary tragedy, of course - but I didn't get enough done to even bother making a post today! xo

I liked the Potato book as well - just the title was interesting! I had to laugh at your not getting everything done - I feel that way a lot recently. Knitting looks good. Keep it up.:)

I love "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society!" It was a great read. I was so sorry to hear about your rosary. Unfortunately my boys dismantled one of my rosarys, however, it did not have sentimental value. Good luck on the shawl, it looks gorgeous girl!~

I want to read Potato Peel Literary Society... someday. But who has time!? The knitting is coming along, hope the issues don't turn into huge problems!
