Tuesday Musings

Right now...  I'm laughing a little because I signed on to write this post and saw that Nadja posted it today too.  I guess it's just one of those weeks there too.

This weekend...  was nice.  Went to Mass on Saturday night and then for dinner at Rib fest.  Unfortunately it was halfway through my delicious scalloped potatoes that I realized that I should NOT be eating them.  I've figured out that dairy and eggs are what make the Smallest One so uncomfortable so I have been working my butt off to cut them out of my diet.  (Plus soy and corn but to a lesser degree.  Lesser mostly because they are in freaking everything.)  The tasty potatoes set back my dairy-free-ness and now I'm back to square one (and she's back to being gassy and having slimy poo.)  Can you believe it takes about 3 weeks to get all the milk proteins out of your system?  Ugg.  Sunday the WeatherMan was at work and Little Miss was crabby so we stuck to home.

Some plans for this week... we are getting ready for a road trip of epic proportion.  First we're off to Pennsylvania for my brother-in-law's wedding.  While we're there we'll be seeing the WeatherMan's family.  And I'm hoping going to the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.  They have dinosaurs and live animals and a children's museum and butterflies and it looks awesome.  We'll be celebrating Littler's 3rd birthday while we're there too (although that's not really until next week.)  Then from there we'll head a little northwest to visit my hometown.  And while we're there we'll celebrate Littler's birthday (again) and Smallest's baptism.  But I'm really getting ahead of myself, that's all next week.  But it's all part of this road trip with THREE SMALL CHILDREN!  Pray for me!

If the stars somehow miraculously align and I have some time for myself... who am I kidding, that wont be happening.  But I am packing my nook and my knitting for in the car.  And I'm hoping to be hanging out with some friends.  So it's good.

I am grateful for... being able to take such a trip, for being finished with my meds (no more daily shots!), for lists, for the Internet (to search for vegan desserts and to comparison shop for a new camera), for Signing Time.

Some prayer intentions... for a safe, smooth, easy going road trip.  For no hidden dairy or eggs.  For a calm, easy going baby while traveling.  For no potty accidents in the car.  For finding an abundance of soy and corn free vegan snacks.  To move home.  For peace in my day.  Now, is that all too much to ask?  ;-)

Something that makes me smile...
"No Mama, it fits."

Wishing you very safe travels Kate and a super time to just relax a little.
I cut out wheat and dairy months ago from my diet and boy has it been hard. I really, really would love a slice of warm baked bread dripping with butter...jeesh, I must be hungry!

Praying for you! Buy lots of new toys for the boys to open up in the car (cheap) it will keep them entertained. And when you are in PA I will give you a wave :)
