Yarn Along - 6/1

A post for favorite things - knitting and books :)  Check in with Ginny at small things to see more.  And some cute baby feet.

My BSJ is currently in waiting.  Elizabeth D has been sick and hasn't been able to post the last (?) round of helps on the pattern.  And I so don't have the guts to attempt picking up stitches without a little guidance.  But I'm down to the last 15 rows, the end is in sight!  A chunk of green and one last set of stripes for the button band I think.

To occupy myself in the meantime I'm trying to finish Chris' quilt.  It's not on the knitting needles but it still involves needles.  :)  Last night I got the machine sewing of the binding finished and now just the hand sewing left.  I'm hopeful I'll be able to get that done in the next couple days.  Nothing like quilting on the first days of above 80* weather of the summer, huh?

As for reading, I was slowly working my way through Jesus of Nazareth.  But it was due to the library yesterday.  One of the wonderful features of library ebooks is that there are no late fines - when they are due they just wont open any more.  But one of the terrible things about library ebooks is that if you're not finished with a book yet you don't have the option of just paying the fine and finishing the book.  So I'm somewhere in chapter 5 and have to put my name back on the holds list.  Maybe when it comes around to my turn again I'll have a little more time (and focus) to sit and really read.  A girl can hope, right?  So in the meantime I've been reading some in Nourishing Traditions and thinking about what to start next.  Probably something light, maybe I'll go through the Harry Potter series in anticipation of the last movie coming out next month.

...beautiful quilt! - I have to make one for my sis - so she could take it to college in september (I've promised to make one for her, and she will be starting 3td year now and there's still no quilt :D )

and beautiful color combination for BSJ :) - I adore that pattern - it will be the first thing I'll knit for my baby - some day in the future :)

Your BSJ is absolutely gorgeous...I love the colors! I have Nourishing Traditions, but haven't had a chance to really dive into it yet. Will do!

Beautiful BSJ! I love the colors you chose. I've got Nourishing Traditions and love reading it, although I haven't tried many of the recipes.

Love your stripes in your BSJ. I think I will go for it. I was hesitant as to whether or not I should add one. Love your colors also.
