Yarn Along

Two of my favorite things - books and knitting :)  And a chance to show off mine and see what others are reading and working on?  I love Wednesdays!  Head over to small things to share.
This week I've been working on, yes, another Baby Surprise Jacket.  And no, the first one for the Knit Along isn't entirely finished.  All that needs to be done is sewing seams and buttons.  Maybe I should get on that...  The second BSJ is coming along nicely - I'm about to put it on the stitch holders.  I'm excited.

And I've been reading How Do You Tuck in a Superhero? by Rachel Balducci.  I am SO enjoying it.  Usually I would roll my eyes at anything described as "laugh out loud" but it really is.  And it is perfectly written for this mama of two little boys - each chapter is made up of short scenes so I don't keep loosing my place when I have to get up to break up a fight or stop someone from climbing something or help someone put his undies back on or stop someone from removing his diaper or... you get the picture.  It's great fun to see all the adventure we have to look forward to.  And to get a start on the list of things to watch out for.

I still need to weave in ends and sew up seams and add buttons on my first BSJ, too, but (like you) that didn't stop me from starting a second one! :-)

That book sounds awesome! I will have to check it out at the library...

I need to do a BSJ one of these days. Everyone else seems to be doing them, and they always turn out so nicely.

I'm awful about getting ends woven in. At one point a few months ago I had a stack of projects totally done except for getting those darn ends taken care of.

I love the colors you chose for the new BSJ!

Your colours look the same as mine! I still haven't tackled a baby surprise jacket...although I am terrible at finishing and do much better with seamless patterns.

I love your BSJ's! Lovely color selections! I will going out and picking up Vanna's choice just so I can mimic you color choices! I haven't knitted strips on anything yet(well unless the pattern calls for it) I can't wait to get started! I love your blog-- it is a very enjoyable read!

Loved the colors of your first BSJ, and this second one looks just as wonderful. I have a really hard time picking out non-boring colors, so I admire that skill very much in others. :) Also, I started a pair of socks today to avoid the "finishing touches" and weaving on my BSJ...maybe something's in the blogosphere today.
