Yarn Along

Keeping it short this week.  But making some progress for a change :)  I spent some time on my yarn nest not that I've worked it out yet.  In fact I might have made it worse.  But I am resisting the urge (for now at least) to just cut it.  And I've gotten some rows knit on the wee babe BSJ.  I'll have some good knitting time in the car this weekend since I haven't gotten the quilt done to bind on the road which had been my plan.

As for reading - still working on Life of Pi.  I'm having a hard time getting into it but I enjoy when I do pick it up.  Maybe I'm having trouble picking it up because I'm also half way through Order of the Phoenix.  There are also of course an insane number of books and stories I read with the boys.  I have to say, a new one which is one of the best I've read in a while we got from the library this week - We're All in the Same Boat by Zachary Shapiro.  It's a telling of Noah's ark, what it was like on the ark for Noah and the animals and how they had to learn to work together.  And it's an alphabet book too.  I love all the verbs and adjectives: "The penguins were pacing.  The quails were quick-tempered.  The rabbits were rowdy."  I love words.  :)

I'm linking up with Ginny today.  Maybe next week I'll have some stash busted so I can link to the stash bash I am trying to participate in too.  Gotta have hope.

I am always hoping to bust my stash, but it doesn't seem to get any smaller!
Also, thanks for the book info. I must admit to loving books on Noah's Ark - we seem to have quite a few but not this one. Also, to anyone in Australia, I went to fishpond.com.au (which I find to consistently be the cheapest bookseller) to put this book on my wishlist. But it was only $3.12! Marked down 90%! So guess what, of course I bought it straight away!!

AS I said before, if we lived closer I would gladly untangle the yarn....I believe I have a gift :) Love the BSJ and especially that beautiful shade of yellow!

I read Life of Pi while in hospital with my second. I will forever connect it with her birth. Worth finishing.

I love a good picture book. Hope you get to finish that knitting soon. Btw - how are your play veggies coming along?

I hate yarn nests. I had to go thru one a little while a go to pack my yarn for our move. Love the colors on your BSJ. Will be so cute!

That sounds like such a cute children's book.

The Order of the Phoenix was a difficult book for me because of all the crap that teacher puts Harry through.

I'm on a major stash-down right now. It's actually a competition on Ravelry. Having other people trying to do the same thing has really helped me stay on track.

I hope that you will be able to sort out your yarn nest so you don't have to cut it and I must check out the book you recommended :) Happy knitting.

That yellow looks nice and sunny!

My knitting has started taking a backseat to quilting this week. Here's to getting fabric projects done!

Sounds like you've had a rough couple days! Hope things are starting to turn around. I've never read Life of Pi, but I intended to when it was all the rage a few years ago. Is the yellow the BSJ? So happy and pretty...
