Yarn Along

I was chugging along on the BSJ, maybe not going to make it to my latest goal of finishing by today but still making good progress when tragedy struck.  It developed a hole.  You can see it here, I delicately hid it in my picture for this post.  I'm really bummed that I have these grand designs for finishing things and always get held up.  Maybe it's a sign I should just slow down and plug away.  Maybe it's a sign I should take a break and work on something else for a bit (like I don't know, finishing the quilt that is sitting in strips on top of my sewing machine.)  Hopefully I will get some time this week without the interruption of fights breaking out left, right, and center and get some work done.

As for reading, I finished Holding On to the Air this week.  I really enjoyed it.  And I got Treasures from the Attic  by Mirjam Pressler from the library for my nook.  I can't remember whose blog I saw it on but it sounded interesting.  It's described as a "non-fiction novel" pulling from letters, poems, and other documents to tell the story of Anne Frank's family before and after war.  I'm not very far into it yet but it's so interesting to see how people lived in other times and places.

And now off to add more books to the list to find from everyone who checks in at small things

Oh no, a hole :( That's not good :( Hope it's an easy fix - can you close it with a loop of yarn and weave in those ends inconspicuously?

Oh, I was hoping you fixed the hole! Well maybe a tiny break will recharge your knitting spirit :)

Looks like a little bit of frogging might be necessary, but not too much since you caught it early on. It looks real pretty though!

I hold such a special place in my heart for Anne Frank(don't we all?) I can't wait to look for the book you mentioned. And I just love your BJS-- the colors are delightful! The stripes are turning grand!

Oh, it's so hard to be almost done with something - I just finished a lace cardigan I've been working on since Christmas, but can I wear it? Nope. Because I need to *block* it, and have I found time for that? No . . . you know how it is!

You can probably close up that whole pretty easily when you weave in the ends.

Treasures from the Attic sounds like an incredible book!
So sorry about the hole. I'm kind of a cheater with holes and sometimes I just close them up after the fact with some spare wool....

Its probably more obvious to you than anyone else. We are our own harshest critics. The yellow and white combination is perfect for Spring.

Oh, no! I looked at the hole post & it looks like you've found help to fix it. I hope it doesn't end up being too much trouble. It is so beautiful & such a lovely knit for a first mama-made going-home sweater... xo
